Social media followers…

We all have them…

They represent a potential audience interested in our content, products or services...

Their engagement can increase our reach, visibility, and influence online...

And some people have maximised their true potential to grow their business.

Followers and fans are not just numbers on your social media profile…

They are potential customers and crucial to your business growth.

And just to clarify the difference…

A follower is an individual who has clicked the 'follow' button on your social media profile.

They have shown an initial interest in your content or brand and have chosen to receive updates from you in their feed.

However, this doesn't necessarily mean they are deeply engaged with your brand or are loyal to it. They might not actively interact with your posts or advocate for your brand.

A fan, on the other hand, is a follower who has developed a deeper connection with your brand.

They not only consume your content but also actively engage with it by liking, sharing, commenting, and even advocating for your brand to their own followers.

They're more likely to have a strong emotional connection to your brand, and they often are more loyal and likely to convert into customers.

In fact, many of my business referrals have been nurtured through my social media feeds.

Creating fans out of my followers means building a loyal community around my brand.


As humans we feel safe within our 'tribe' because it's a community where we share common values, goals, and experiences.

And, this familiarity and shared understanding creates a comforting sense of belonging and acceptance, fostering an environment of mutual support and trust.

Furthermore, fans are not only likely to become repeat customers, but they also become brand advocates, spreading the word about your products or services to their own networks.

This amplifies your reach and potential customer base significantly.

But to achieve this, businesses must focus on creating more personal and meaningful relationships with their followers.
